The seven-skin method is a Korean technique of patting several thin layers of a hydrating toner into the skin, one after another, instead of one heavy layer. Three layers are plenty for most people, and each layer should be pressed in until it feels almost absorbed before the next one goes on. It works best with simple, alcohol-free, non-exfoliating toners and is especially helpful in dry winters or after long flights. Never layer exfoliating toners this way, because repeated acid layers can irritate the barrier.
