About Daily Moisturiser

What is a daily moisturiser?

A daily moisturiser is the everyday face cream or lotion you use every morning and evening to keep skin comfortable, hydrated and protected. It is the dependable middle of a routine: after cleansing and serum, before sunscreen in the day. A good one is something you reach for without thinking, in every season.

This collection is for those everyday creams and lotions. Our main moisturisers collection holds every face cream we stock, the balms and gels edit focuses on ultra-light gels and repairing balms, and night creams are richer formulas built for overnight. If you are choosing one moisturiser to use every day, start here.

Why your skin needs a moisturiser every day

  • It holds water in. Cleansing, hard water and air-conditioning pull moisture from the skin; a moisturiser slows that loss.
  • It supports the barrier. A healthy outer layer means less stinging, redness and reactive breakouts.
  • It helps actives work. Retinoids, acids and acne treatments are easier to tolerate when the skin is well moisturised.
  • It improves how sunscreen and makeup sit. Both look smoother on hydrated skin.
  • It keeps oil balanced. Dehydrated skin often overproduces oil, so even oily skin benefits.

How to choose a daily moisturiser

Texture matters more than brand. Match the format to your skin and to the weather where you live.

Look for ceramides, panthenol and squalane for barrier support; glycerin and hyaluronic acid for hydration; centella and madecassoside for calm; and niacinamide if you want help with oil and an even-looking tone.

Daily moisturiser by skin type

Daily moisturiser for oily skin

Oily skin needs water, not more oil. Choose a lotion or gel cream that sinks in within a minute and leaves a soft rather than shiny finish. Use a pea-sized amount in the morning and a little more at night. If you are still shiny by noon, blot instead of skipping moisturiser.

Daily moisturiser for acne-prone skin

Breakout-prone skin does best with non-comedogenic, fragrance-free formulas. Calming ingredients like centella and panthenol help balance the dryness caused by acne treatments. If you use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or a retinoid, a moisturiser is essential, not optional. Our skincare collection has the acne actives to pair it with.

Daily moisturiser for dry skin

Dry skin needs a cream with lipids such as ceramides and squalane. Apply it on slightly damp skin straight after toner to lock in water. In winter, a second thin layer at night helps, and a hydrating mist through the day keeps skin comfortable.

Combination skin

Use a light cream or gel cream all over, then pat a little extra on dry cheeks. You do not need two separate moisturisers unless the difference between zones is large.

Sensitive skin

Pick short ingredient lists, no fragrance and soothing actives. Patch-test new creams along the jaw for three days, and introduce only one new product at a time.

Men's skin

A lightweight, quick-absorbing lotion after shaving calms razor irritation and stops the tight feeling. Many men prefer gel textures that disappear without residue.

How to use a daily moisturiser

How much to use

A pea-sized to almond-sized amount covers the face; add a little more if you include the neck. Warm it between your fingertips and press it in rather than rubbing hard.

Serum or moisturiser first?

Serum first. Apply products from the thinnest to the thickest texture: toner, serum, then moisturiser. A moisturiser on top seals in your serum, which is why it comes last before sunscreen.

Do you still need sunscreen?

Yes. Even if your moisturiser has SPF, most people apply too little of it to get the stated protection. Use your moisturiser, wait a minute, then apply a separate sunscreen.

Pimple patches and moisturiser

Place pimple patches on clean, dry skin before moisturiser, so they stick properly. Moisturise around the patch.

Day cream vs night cream: do you need both?

Not necessarily. Many people use one daily moisturiser morning and evening. A separate day cream makes sense if you like a lighter texture under sunscreen, and a night cream helps if you want richer comfort or extra actives such as retinol or peptides while you sleep. Start with one good daily moisturiser, then add a dedicated night product only if your skin asks for more.

Moisturising through Pakistan's seasons

Summer

From May to August, heat and humidity make heavy creams feel greasy. Switch to a lotion or gel cream and keep a light layer under a fluid sunscreen.

Monsoon

Humid air means you may need less product, but sweat and frequent cleansing still dry the skin. Keep moisturising morning and night.

Winter

Cold, dry air in Lahore, Islamabad and the north, plus hot showers, strip moisture. Move to a richer ceramide cream and apply it on damp skin.

Which Korean moisturiser is best for daily use?

Korean creams are popular in Pakistan because so many come in light, layerable textures that cope with heat. For a first Korean moisturiser, a snail or panthenol cream is an easy all-rounder. Choose a ceramide cream if your skin runs dry, a centella or madecassoside cream if it reacts easily, and a jelly or capsule cream if you want a glowing finish. Western pharmacy brands such as CeraVe are equally good choices for dry, barrier-damaged skin; pick by texture and ingredients, not by country.

Common daily moisturiser mistakes

  • Skipping it on humid days. Sweat is not hydration, and skin left bare often turns oilier by evening.
  • Applying it to bone-dry skin. Moisturiser works best on skin that is still slightly damp from toner.
  • Using a body lotion on the face. Body formulas are often heavier and more fragranced than facial skin needs.
  • Rubbing hard. Pressing and patting is gentler, especially around the eyes.
  • Judging too quickly. Give a new cream two weeks unless it stings or breaks you out.
  • Forgetting the neck. It dries and shows lines as easily as the face.

Daily moisturiser price in Pakistan

A good moisturiser is one of the best-value buys in skincare because it is used twice daily and large tubs last for months. Prices update live on each product page. Free delivery applies from Rs. 6,000, and orders from Rs. 8,000 come with two free gifts.

Is your moisturiser original?

Popular creams are heavily copied, and a fake moisturiser can cause the very breakouts you want to avoid. YESBEAUTY sells only 100% original products. Korean brands are sourced through official channels in Korea; Western brands such as CeraVe come through their own official channels. Every order is backed by our 7-day return guarantee if a product is ever found inauthentic.

Daily Moisturiser: your questions

Which is the best moisturiser for dry skin?

A cream with ceramides, squalane or shea suits dry skin best, because it replaces the lipids that keep water in. Apply it on damp skin twice a day and add a thin second layer at night in winter. Fragrance-free formulas are kindest if your skin also stings.

Which daily moisturiser suits oily skin in summer?

A light lotion or gel cream with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide or centella works best. It hydrates without adding shine and feels comfortable in heat. Use a small amount and follow with a matte or fluid sunscreen.

How many times a day should I moisturise?

Twice a day, morning and evening, after cleansing and serum, suits most people. Dry skin may need an extra layer at night or a quick top-up during the day. Oily skin can use a lighter amount in the morning.

Can I use the same moisturiser in the morning and at night?

Yes. One good daily moisturiser is enough for most people. You might prefer a lighter amount under sunscreen and a slightly thicker layer at night. Add a separate night cream only if you want extra richness or actives.

Should I apply serum or moisturiser first?

Serum goes first, then moisturiser. Thin, watery products need direct contact with the skin, and the moisturiser then seals them in. In the morning, finish with sunscreen after the moisturiser has settled.

Can a moisturiser with SPF replace sunscreen?

Usually not. Most people apply too thin a layer of moisturiser to get the SPF on the label. Use your moisturiser first, then a separate sunscreen in the recommended amount, especially in Pakistan's strong sun.

Will moisturiser help acne scars?

A moisturiser alone will not fade acne marks, but it keeps the skin healthy while you use actives that do, such as niacinamide, azelaic acid or retinoids. Well-moisturised skin also heals more comfortably after breakouts.

Can moisturiser cause pimples?

A formula that is too heavy for your skin type can clog pores and trigger breakouts. If that happens, switch to a lighter, non-comedogenic lotion or gel cream, and make sure you double cleanse at night to remove sunscreen.

Do men need a different moisturiser?

Not really. Skin type matters more than gender. Men often prefer fast-absorbing lotions or gel creams, especially after shaving, but any moisturiser that suits your skin type will work.

Should I change my moisturiser in winter?

Many people do. In dry winter months, a richer cream with ceramides keeps skin comfortable, while a lighter lotion feels better in summer. If your skin feels tight or flaky, it is time for a richer formula.

How do I know my moisturiser is working?

Your skin should feel comfortable, not tight, a few hours after applying it, with no stinging, greasiness or new breakouts. Over two weeks, makeup and sunscreen should sit more smoothly. If skin still feels dry, try a richer texture.

Is a medicated moisturiser better for daily use?

Not for most people. Everyday skin does best with a simple, gentle moisturiser. Medicated creams prescribed for specific conditions should only be used as your doctor advises. Pair a plain moisturiser with any treatment products instead.
